This Group, in conjunction with the Turkish Environment Group, have been researching the issue of street dogs. They have recently visited the dog shelter details of the recent improvements seen have been recorded. This is a long-term project, which would develop over the next two to three years. The Group would seek the support of animal welfare groups in Turkey and hoped to take advantage of an RSPCA veterinary education programme to offer assistance to local vets. There was much work to be carried out to further improve conditions in the short term: leaking roof, fencing, gates etc. The Group needed to recruit more members.
